Believe in Jesus
Our sins which bring us guilt and shame separate us from our Heavenly Father and we cannot redeem ourselves by our merit.
Because God loves us, He came to Earth in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to save us from our sins and reconcile us back to Him. Jesus was born of a virgin Mary in Bethlehem, lived a sinless life, and willingly laid down His life on the cross to put an end to sin once and for all. After dying, Jesus was buried and rose again to life three days later— giving everyone who trusts in Him the power of His Spirit and justification to eternal life paid for by the blood He shed at the cross.
Receive God's forgiveness
God is the embodiment of love, and He is trustworthy, faithful, and He cannot lie. The Bible contains God's love letter to us, and in it God has promised eternity where He will make all things new - without sin and death and where we will dwell with Him face to face. To be part of this glorious future, we must first meet Jesus and receive forgiveness of our sins through a relationship with Him that is based on love.
True righteousness and immortality cannot be bought or achieved in our imperfection; it can only be given by the Creator Himself.
When we confess and renounce our sins to God, we draw closer to Him, and He, in turn, draws closer to us. Becoming friends with Jesus means renouncing sin and committing wholeheartedly to trusting in His wisdom and guidance so we can live life the way He intended it, in peace and righteousness.
Wear Righteousness
Receiving salvation means forgoing any personal merit and instead wearing Jesus' righteousness. It means allowing God to work in us so we can be born again as a new creation in Christ empowered by His Holy Spirit, who gives us the power to overcome all wordly temptation and make the right choices in life.
God is patient with us because He wants everyone to come to repentance, know the truth, and be saved. However, Jesus also warned His return will be like a thief in the night for those unprepared to face Him because they chose sin instead.
Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus came to Earth to solve our problem of sin once for all. Soon, He will return once more at the last day of this evil age, not to deal with sin but to bring salvation and raise all who are eagerly waiting for Him. Death will be swallowed up in victory forever. Will you accept God's free gift of salvation so you can stand before Jesus in love and truth?
Reserve your seat at the celebration
The only way to reserve your place in eternity is to go through Jesus Himself. No one can accept the free gift of God on your behalf, because it is by our faith that we are justified. Reconciliation with God begins with communication. Through prayer, a personal relationship with Him can be established so we can grow in love and righteousness and know the Lord is working everything together for our good, even if we don't fully understand the bigger picture. God responds to humility and a contrite heart, and He meets us where we are at when we come to Him in faith. If you would like to respond to His invitation and be granted righteous garments for the marriage supper and eternity, you can try praying something like this to get started.
Dear Father God,
I'm sorry for hurting You and others, and I ask for Your forgiveness and mercy.
I believe Jesus shed His blood on the cross for my sins, and rose again to life so I can be redeemed and reconciled to You.
I want to start life anew and live a life of righteousness and peace. I trust in Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness and help me to make the right choices so I can stand before You in love and truth.
Thank you for your love and grace, and the amazing gift of life!
In Jesus' name,
Amen
Getting to know Jesus is a process that is different for everyone. Salvation isn't necessarily about repeating a prayer or following religious rules. Rather, it is a real, personal relationship with the one and only eternal Living God, who is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is about knowing who you love and submit to— the truth in Jesus, or the lies of sin.
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. If you don't know where to go from here, you can read the Book of John to learn more about Jesus, Romans to learn more about the good news of salvation, or Genesis to learn the truth of God's creation.
May the Lord bless you, keep you, and give you peace.
