Hasn’t science proven the globe?

Scientific theories are easy to accept when they are taught as fact, but if we want the truth we have to examine the claims ourselves. Consider what is actually settled: where Earth's atmosphere ends and a vacuum begins, how rockets push against nothing, why water never conforms to a sphere, and how planets from Mercury to Neptune can align in one night sky. These are the questions to study for ourselves.

So does this mean gravity doesn’t exist?

Gravity is a theory, and scientists themselves do not agree on what it actually is or whether it is a force at all. Are we being pulled down, or accelerating upward? There is no demonstration of water conforming to the surface of a sphere or that a vacuum/our atmosphere can exist without containment. When a belief is regarded as settled science without the scientific method behind it, that is pseudoscience.

What about photos of space?

Images of space are computer-processed because they are not humanly visible. Galaxies and nebulae are layers of different wavelengths of light stacked and colourised at a person's discretion, closer to data visualisations or artist impressions than photographs. If we can image galaxies said to be millions of light years away, it is worth asking why there is no zoomed-in photo or video of a place like Australia.

What about satellites and the ISS?

NASA is one of the largest consumers of helium in the world. The ISS was supposedly built over 13 years with contributions from 15 countries, yet there is little substantial evidence showing how it was achieved, and satellites are never visible in photos or videos. Meanwhile more than 95 percent of the world's communications actually depend on undersea cables.

Why don’t we fall off the edge of the Earth?

Scripture says the Earth has fixed boundaries (Psalm 74:17) and that its shape is like clay pressed beneath a seal (Job 38:14). Asking for a complete working model is the wrong question, because we cannot see creation from God's perspective and His ways are higher than ours. We do not fall off because God designed His creation with care and set fixed boundaries for the earth and the oceans.

How could so many people lie about this?

Scripture warns that in later times some will depart from the faith, following deceitful spirits and the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared (1 Timothy 4:1-2). Our battle is not against flesh and blood but is a spiritual war spanning generations. Satan cannot create anything new, so he corrupts our understanding of creation, knowing that it affects our understanding of the Creator.

Even if this is true, why does it matter?

Satan is the father of lies, while our Father in heaven cannot lie and created us in love and truth. This spiritual war centres on God's creation, and accepting the enemy's lies leads us further away from truth and understanding. Jesus said we would need to pray for strength to escape the snare of the enemy and stand before the Son of Man. Would you rather live in a comfortable lie, or love the truth?

In this world, science is seen as the solution to all our problems.

Science shapes nearly every part of our lives, influencing how we live, think, and imagine the future. Media has conditioned us to believe the "final frontier" for human exploration is outer space.

But we are all limited by our bias, experience, and the unique way we all perceive the world. This is why scientific theories remain as theories and can never be claimed as absolute truth.

You don’t need to be a scientist to understand creation because the Lord has already revealed the truth in His Word.

When it comes to the world, the only way to know the truth about it is to consult the Creator. The Bible isn’t just another book; it’s His testimony of how He made the world and everything in it. The problem is, modern science often contradicts what Scripture says. So, our understanding of the world rests on a choice.

Man’s wisdom

Humans can view Earth from God’s perspective (also known in cinema as the God's-eye view, bird's-eye view, or overhead shot).

Heaven is God’s throne and Earth is His footstool.

“Thus says the LORD: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest?”

Conclusion: We cannot know what earth looks like in totality because we cannot see from God's perspective.

Man’s wisdom

Humans can land on the Moon, bring back Moon dust, set up temporary bases, and leave behind scientific equipment, flags, and human waste on the surface.

Humans do not have authority over the sun, moon, or stars.

Gravity keeps planets in orbit around the sun, keeps us on the ground, and causes objects to fall when dropped.

God’s sovereignty governs creation and His design is beyond human understanding.

The ocean’s tides are determined by the gravitational pull of the Moon, and to a lesser extent, the Sun.

Black holes are so dense that gravity just beneath its surface, the event horizon, is strong enough that nothing – not even light – can escape.

Dark matter is the invisible glue that holds the universe together.

Space colonies are a future possibility in a vacuum with no breathable air.

The universe is upheld by God’s Word, and His breath gives life.

Conclusion: Outer space cannot exist as we are taught. Earth was especially created by God for life— not the dark and silent vacuum of "space" which cannot scatter light, carry sound, or sustain life.

We are taught the laws of nature are fundamental to understanding the world we live in.

But Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein don’t have the final say on how creation works.

Johannes Kepler doesn’t have the final say on how stars traverse the sky.

Edwin Hubble doesn’t have the final say on what the heavens are and what it contains.

James Webb doesn’t have the final say on what the heavens looks like.

Charles Darwin doesn’t have the final say on how God’s creatures live, move, and have their being.

It is the Lord that made the earth by his strength, who set up the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the sky, and set abundance of waters in the sky, and brought up clouds from the ends of the earth; he made lightnings for the rain, and brought forth light out of his treasures.

How well do you know His creation?

The contradictions between Scripture and science can be tempting to ignore because "it’s not a salvation issue". It is however a truth issue.

God made heaven and earth, and His throne is in heaven. Heaven is not outer space. We are taught space is cold, silent, and dark. Jesus also speaks of outer darkness— in reference to hell.

Scripture warns of an apostasy from the Lord before the man of lawlessness is revealed, because people refuse to love the truth and be saved. In Hosea 4:6, God’s people were destroyed for lack of knowledge because they rejected it.

Jesus Christ is the word of God, the light of the world, and the Lord of all creation. His breath gives life and His throne is in heaven. As humans, we cannot enter heaven on our own terms.

According to the wisdom of this world, Earth’s axial tilt is 23.4° or 66.6°, the orbital speed is 66,616mph, and the gravitational constant is 6.67430 × 10⁻¹¹ m³ kg⁻¹ s⁻². But God is clear: we cannot fully comprehend His design or view earth from His perspective because His ways are higher than ours. If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know.

The lies of the big bang theory, Darwinian evolution, and UFOs/aliens depend heavily on space and our imagination, and these ideas are very effective at making us feel small, worthless, and insignificant. But once you realise we live in a world of lies and that God's word is true, the devil's house of cards collapses and it becomes much easier to understand why the world is the way it is today.

"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God—a workman not ashamed, straightly cutting the word of truth."

2 Timothy 2:15

True science rests on repeatable tests and observation. If a theory cannot withstand scrutiny it must be discarded.

To be truly wise in this world, we have to become a fool. The wisdom of this world is folly with God, and He knows the thoughts of the wise— that they are futile. God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, what is weak in the world to shame the strong, and what is low and despised in the world and even the things that are not to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

Jesus said we would need to pray for strength in order to escape the snare of the enemy and stand before the Son of Man. But even though God has given us everything for life here on earth, we are still tempted to look beyond those boundaries— towards heaven. Satan tempted Eve with his lies of hidden "wisdom" and this led to death entering all of creation. We face a similar test today.

Know the truth for yourself.

Jesus is the Father's only begotten Son— the fullness of God in human flesh and the embodiment of love and truth. He stepped out of heaven to demonstrate what love truly means, through suffering, the shedding of His blood, and death at the cross to redeem us of our sins. After being buried and rising on the third day, Jesus showed in His life, death, and resurrection that only true love can overcome death, and that He is the only way we can have true peace with God. God's plan spans time, crosses continents, and impacts all of creation. But it can all be summarised in one word which underpins everything: love.
