Because we were made to know God, and nothing can fill that gap but Him alone. Jesus called Himself the bread of life for exactly this reason.
In John 6, Jesus contrasts the manna Israel ate in the wilderness, which kept them alive one day at a time, with Himself: the true bread from heaven that gives life to the world and does not run out. Spiritual bread embodies the fruit of the spirit. “Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.” (John 4:34)
Start honestly. Read John or Romans, talk to God about where you’re at and find Christians near you. You do not have to work it out alone.
